Summary:
 

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.  

The Eskenazi Health Fresh for You On Wheels is a community outreach program designed to provide a healthy shopping experience for communities located in areas without proper access to a local grocery store. It is also designed to assist in providing healthy cooking classes, Health coaching and will offer information on resources such as SNAP, WIC, and the Community Compass.

Individuals who receive Eskenazi Vouchers through our patient relations groups will be able to redeem those vouchers at each of the locations where the bus will be located through the week. Eskenazi Health is committed to building a healthy community one meal at a time through this program. You will play a vital role in the overall success of this vital program and will help to bring relief and hope to individuals struggling with food insecurity in the communities we will be serving.

 Duties and Responsibilities:
 

• Assist shoppers
• Setup and tear down at each location
• Information services, assist in providing information to the public on programs and wrap around services associate with the Eskenazi Health FFYM ON Wheels operation.
• Provide a positive experience for our guests, display a kind a compassionate spirit and attitude.
• Restocking of the FFYM Bus with food items before and during its daily operation.
• Removal of trash and clean-up of site area during and after daily operation.
• Help to direct guest flow to and from the Bus
• Put parking cones out prior to operation and signage to direct guest to parking and site.
• Assist in cleaning the bus after daily operation.

Qualifications:
 

• Volunteer must be at least 18 years of age.
• Successful completion of volunteer onboarding, orientation and department specific training.
• Be able to life 25-30 lbs
• Excellent customer service skills

Time Commitment: 
 

• Volunteer must be able to commit to one 4 hour shift weekly.
• Shifts are available Monday - Friday
  • 7am - 11am
  • 11am - 3pm
  • 7am - 3pm
