Job Role Summary

Responsible for accurately and efficiently scanning and entering information from birth, death, fetal certificates, and corporation reimbursement information, for retrieval in Vital Records imaging system and databases.  Responsible for relief in all public areas of Vital Records during staff breaks and absences.  Responsible for answering incoming vital records related calls from the public.


  • High school diploma
  • 5 years previous experience in public health

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office
  • PC operation, databases, imaging systems, and workflow

Ability to:

  • Compose cleare concise letter of inquiry
  • Type accurately 30-40 words per minute
  • Use multiple software appliations simultaneously 
  • Use computerized workflow system to complete daily processes
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
