Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.

 

 

About the Prevention and Recovery Center

The Prevention and Recovery Center, Coordinated Specialty Care (PARC CSC) provides early screening, prevention, and intervention services for individuals ages 14 - 35 who have experienced a first episode of psychosis (FEP) within the past 5 years. PARC CSC provides comprehensive clinical services with multidisciplinary teams evaluating and addressing every participant’s individual needs using the OnTrack model of care. Three clinical teams serve program participants, each comprised of a psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, case manager, nurse, clinical pharmacist, supportive Employment Consultant, and team lead. PARC CSC aims to improve functioning, promote wellness and recovery, and ultimately improve outcomes for young people with psychotic disorders.

Where You Fit In:

The PARC CSC Supportive Employment Consultant (Supportive Educational and Employment Specialist- SEES) provides assistance to young adults enrolled in the program with obtaining and retaining competitive employment and/or educational setting, and builds partnerships with area businesses to connect program enrollees with opportunities. This is the only position of its kind in the State of Indiana.

Am I Qualified:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with the ability to meet minimum competency standards set forth by Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center 
  • Valid Indiana Driver's License that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements
  • Individuals with vocational rehabilitation experience are encouraged to apply!

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to individuals enrolled at PARC CSC in meeting their occupational goals, including obtaining and maintaining competitive employment and/or education
  • Completes assessments to determine education/employment related goals with each participant.
  • Proactively engages PARC participants in SEES services. 
  • Collaboratively develops specific short & long term employment and/or education goals.
  • Carries out job matching/development through comprehensive search in community applying the Individual Placement and Support model (IPS)
  • Provides guidance and education to enable participants to maintain employment education. 
  • Collaborates with individual, PARC CSC team, others as requested by the individual. 
  • Performs home & community visits 
  • Demonstrates proactivity and initiative when outreaching potential employers and educational organizations to develop ongoing, working relationships. 
  • Leverages marketing skills to build relationships with community employers/education centers to connect clients to opportunities. 
  • Act as a liaison between educational institute/employer, as needed.
  • Documents SEES services according to SEMHC standards
  • Actively engaged, participates, and contributes in weekly supervision.
  • Involves and collaborates with the patient, family members, and loved ones of the individual. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•    Strong written and oral communications skills. 
•    Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively with complex tasks under time pressure.
•    Ability to work with general supervision and exercise independent judgment, utilizing diplomacy, tact, and good customer relations skills.
•    Can effectively utilize various online and virtual platforms for education and outreach.
•    Competence in computer usage, MS Office software and databases with ability/willingness to learn other systems.
•    Knowledge of available resources, particularly those that are employment and training related, in the Indianapolis community.
•    Experience in job readiness preparation, job placement and retention.
