Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

 

 

 

Job Role Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements related to pricing transparency and price estimates.  This position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all patient facing documents/tools related to pricing and estimates.  In addition, this position is responsible for estimate builds and analysis based on volumes, service line, and market pricing.  Finally, this position will be responsible for monthly pricing analysis, for both new and existing codes, providing gross revenue impact and recommendations for pricing changes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Reads, interprets, and researches all state and federal requirements related to pricing transparency guidelines and patient estimates
  • Utilizes available research resources, such as state and federal websites, hospital comparison data, and other online resources to ensure compliance, accuracy, and competitive rates for all service line and episode of care pricing/estimates
  • Acts as the primary person responsible for maintaining patient website data specific to pricing and price estimates. 
  • Acts as the primary person responsible for creating and managing all price estimate build for Revenue Cycle Support
  • Completes pricing and estimate audits, requests, and analyses:
    • Primary person to complete pricing reviews, strategic analysis and pricing recommendations
    • Primary person to complete price estimate build for all new services, review/analyze existing estimates for build accuracy and modification; i.e. individual code vs historical, vs bundled estimate
    • Primary person to collaborate with Patient Access and outside entities/vendors around price estimates for professional services to ensure a comprehensive price estimate is provided to patients
    • Primary person to complete strategic pricing reviews, monthly and quarterly, based on service line; this will include the use of contracting resources and claim data
    • Primary person to collaborate with other Revenue Cycle departments to reduce payor steerage and maintain/increase volumes

Job Requirements

Requires eight (8) years of patient financial services experience, with preference given to working knowledge in Charge Description Master coupled with at least 3 years of health care and health care related project management experience. Bachelor’s Degree required; seven (7) years of direct patient accounting experience may be substituted for post high school education.

  • Medical Technician, LPN, RN, with current state licensure OR certified R.H.I.A., R.H.I.T., CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, or CCA preferred
  • Experience with Health Information Management (HIM), Facility/Physician Billing, Charge Description Master (CDM), Professional Fee Schedules, Denials Management, Charge Integrity, and Financial Analysis
