Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.
About the Residential Program
With three residential sites, the residential program focuses on helping adults with serious mental illness develop the skills necessary to be connected to and engaged in their communities. In our largest residential program, a 45-bed transitional program, our team members teach individuals skills and provide the coordination of care that helps our clients quickly get back to independent living in the community.

The Clinical Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our clients receive high-quality care and support by overseeing and maintaining clinical processes, treatment plans, and documentation standards. In addition, they provide clinical supervision, guidance, and training to a team of clinicians, case managers, and related staff members.
Am I Qualified
- Master's degree in human services, plus a minimum of five years of experience.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health or human services.
- Current Indiana behavioral health license, such as LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to clinicians, case managers, and related positions.
- Stay updated on research-based clinical practices and protocols and teach them to staff, ensuring adherence and fidelity to these standards.
- Conduct orientation and on-the-job training to prepare staff for their roles.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, managers, and other personnel to develop and integrate necessary treatment services.
- Promote ongoing in-service training opportunities to keep staff current in their practice.
- Collaborate with external organizations to ensure seamless services for our clients and establish referral systems.
- Monitor the clinical work performance of staff, assist in personnel data preparation, and participate in performance evaluations as assigned.
- Assist staff in preparing documentation, including court letters, evaluations, and professional correspondence.
- Deliver a comprehensive range of strengths and community-based interventions for clients, with an understanding of best practices for various client populations.
- Provide indirect services to external agencies and the community through consultation and education. Serve as a role model and clinical resource for fellow clinicians.
- Assist clinicians in determining appropriate interventions to help clients achieve their treatment goals and provide support to team members as needed.
- Offer valuable input for staff performance appraisals.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of mental health strength and community-based treatment models.
- Strong interpersonal skills with clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Advanced understanding of psychiatric and addiction diagnoses and their impact on behavior, psychotropic medication uses and side effects, and research-based clinical practices and protocols.
- Ability to teach, mentor, and monitor adherence to clinical practices.
- Proficiency in crisis intervention, leadership, and team building.
