Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing the receipt, inspection, and distribution of incoming supplies and equipment within the receiving dock and breakdown rooms in the Supply Chain department at Eskenazi Health. This role ensures that all received items meet quality standards and are delivered to the appropriate departments in a timely manner.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health Mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality and temperature control.
  • Proper use of enterprise resource planning solution.
  • Coordinate the distribution of supplies and equipment to various departments.
  • Document and record all received items in the inventory management system.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding damage, discrepancies or issues with shipments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving and dock locations.
  • Make sure end of shift duties are complete and meet operational standards.
  • Sustain accurate filing records for proof of delivery, bill of laden and receipts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, FDA standards and product recall management notifications.
     

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • 1-2 years receiving experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of inventory management and receiving procedures.
  • Proficiency using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Capable of utilizing standard supply chain equipment specific to box cutter, wireless handheld devices, electronic power jacks, tote and pallets, rolling racks and recycle & trash compactors.
  • Preferred knowledge of healthcare supply chain terminology, materials handling, courier services, freight management, SAP MRP, SAP Fiori, Global Health Exchange and Power BI
