Job Role Summary

This position is responsible for providing specialized professional healthcare services which include confidential medical treatment and primary care for patients, with particular focus on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and assessing patients for PEP/PReP eligibility, and initiation of patients on PrEP and PEP under the supervision of and in collaboration with designated physicians and nurses.  

Qualifications

  • Fifth year of college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Current Indiana license as Registered Nurse. 
  • Completion of a MSN degree from an NLN/NCC accredited program that includes nurse practitioner training in one of the following: OB/GYN, Pediatrics/Family Practice, or successful post graduate completion of a formal nurse practitioner educational program in OB/GYN, Pediatrics, or Family Practice in a university setting. 
     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Language Skills: 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

Mathematical Skills: 

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Products or the equivalent. 
  • Ability to navigate Windows Explorer and e-mail. 

Reasoning Ability: 

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions. 
     

Working Enviornment

  • Standard medical office environment. 
  • Exposure to communicable disease, illness and combative patients. 
  • Some physical effort associated with carrying of supplies for health fairs and handling clinic supplies.
