Job Role Summary
This position is responsible for the creation, management, and organizing of different forms of media, for the Nutrition Services (NS) program. The primary objective of this role is to develop a variety of types of media to reach and engage target audiences with key nutrition initiatives from the Nutrition Services team.
Essential Duties
- Provide technical media support for NS staff filming and editing food preparation, cooking demonstrations, and other presentations.
- Record a minimum of one nutrition food demonstration per month.
- Develop a weekly social media post for NS.
- Collaboration with the NS team to schedule filming.
- Edit videos to include recipes, voice overs, music, etc.
- Use content provided by the NS food team to develop media including but not limited to: print handouts, flyers, newsletters, recipes and digital medial such as reels and videos
- Coordinate live streaming and recordings of nutrition classes.
- Monitor and update NS website to ensure up-to-date and accurate promotion of current programs, services, and classes.
- Provide an inventory list of all Nutrition Services media equipment and keep equipment organized and accounted for.
- Suggest equipment and software needed to enhance media projects.
- Collaborate with MCPHD public relations department to ensure brand and messaging consistency.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings, team meetings, and committee meetings as assigned
- Plan and participate in a minimum of two health fair events totaling a minimum of eight (8) hours annually.
- Attend in-services/seminars to increase job knowledge.

Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in public relations, digital media, graphic Design or related field
- 1 year of previous work experience, preferred experience in media-related field
- Technical skills: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Powerpoint, Microsoft Outlook Suite, CapCut, photography, videography
- Culinary experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications Required
- Valid Indiana Driver’s license
- Access to own car and current automobile insurance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be capable of working with a variety of populations in a wide array of locations such as schools, daycares, businesses, senior centers, and other community settings where a community nutrition program might be requested
- Excellent verbal and written skills; excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet Explorer, and office equipment such as fax machine, copier, and telephone
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to take initiative and prioritize workload
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation
- Cultural competence
- Flexibility to adapt to changing program/department needs and activities
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must be able to transport educational materials, demo foods and equipment or AV equipment necessary for programs.
- Potential exposure to communicable illness and disease resulting from frequent public contact and travel throughout the community
Working Environment
- Standard office environment.
- Auto travel within the county to homes, clinics, meetings, etc.
- Physical effort associated with carrying of supplies for community events. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Must be able to transport educational materials, and equipment or AV equipment necessary for programs.
- Potential exposure to communicable illness and disease resulting from frequent public contact and travel throughout the community,
- Some exposure to cold/warm temperatures in outdoor settings that lack climate control.
