Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The mission of Fathers and Families Center (FFC) is “To build a noble legacy of fatherhood – assisting fathers in achieving self-sufficiency and in strengthening families to improve the life chances of children.” We accomplish this by working with fathers and their families to help them to be better partners, providers and parents.

Reporting to the Vice President for Programs and Partnerships, the Training Center Development Manager will design, develop and manage all educational, training, and operational activities of the training center including staffing, facilities, programming, certifications, and coordination with employer partners, unions, vendors and suppliers. S/he will also be responsible for managing this location.
 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Education and Training: 
•    Design, develop and implement a comprehensive skills training certification program for the trades with videos, manuals and other methods to ensure the program is completely documented. This includes a three week construction certification, in addition to coordination of forklift, HVAC, apartment Maintenance,  CDL and other certification opportunities.
•    Identify and document training opportunities, requirements and career paths for participants.
•    Establish, implement, and manage the training materials and procedures to meet the requirements of the certification program(s).
•    Evaluate and record training achievements and challenges and report to leadership on a quarterly basis.
•    Coordinates onsite testing in alignment with certification requirements.
•    Schedules, supervises. and evaluates trainers and instructors to ensure adherence to the curriculum guidelines and quality learning outcomes for clients. 
•    Manage transitional subsidized employment partnerships and funds to offset cost of training and/or wages for clients.
•    Provides employment and career coaching during and after the course work.
•    Coordinate, schedule and manage evening and weekend classes.
•    Conduct train-the-trainer classes.
External Relationships: 
•    Provide leadership on employer engagement and outreach activities for successful placement and retention of clients upon completion of certifications
•    Work with management and executive team to identify and cultivate employers who will provide on the job training, apprenticeships and transitional subsidized employment opportunities.
•    Stay current with trends and best practices in the construction, manufacturing and other trades adjusting strategy to produce optimal results.
•    Building a sustainable network of partners who can help FFC fulfill its mission.
•    Identify job opportunities and industry sectors with strong growth potential and career advancement opportunities. 
•    Works collaboratively with the Workforce Development Manager to identify key competencies sought by employers in a diverse range of industry sectors
•    Collaborates with educational institutions to provide access to additional or specialized postsecondary educational opportunities.
•    Develop and maintain partnerships with local trade unions, apprenticeship programs and businesses/industries to create a pipeline to jobs and careers.

Operations and Administration:
•    Manage the physical facility, including coordination of maintenance, vendor relationships, security and other services. 
•    Manage inventory of tools and class supplies.
•    Maintain high level of security with respect to building and client safety.
•    Ensure the front area and workspaces are kept tidy and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for clients and community.
•    Works collaboratively across the organization to ensure communication and tracking of client outcomes.
•    Utilizes ETO or other database to collect and monitor client data and progress.
 

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in the areas of workforce development, business administration, education or human services preferred.
  • Five to seven years of direct service experience in workforce development and/or training, including demonstrated track record in program development, partnership development, coordination and job placement/retention preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in project management or leading a high-performing team preferred.
  • Experience with client and outcome tracking software; experience with Social Solutions’ Efforts to Outcomes preferred.
  • Experience with adult education/training preferred.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license 
  • Must have own transportation

•    Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively with complex tasks under time pressure and minimal supervision
•    Exercise independent judgment, utilizing diplomacy, tact, and good customer relations skills.
•    Ability to utilize various online and virtual platforms for education and outreach of staff and participants.
•    Competence in computer usage, MS Office software and databases with ability/willingness to learn other systems.
