Job Role Summary
The intern will assist during the spring semester from (January to May 2025) with performing a wide range of Corporate Long Term Care financial activities, which include cost measurement, budget analysis, financial reporting, and the compilation /evaluation of financial information. Prepares the analysis of monthly financials from the LTC management company (LTC Manager) and various financial analysis reports as requested by VP LTC and LTC Financial Analyst.
Essential Duties
- Assists in the preparation of the comprehensive annual financial report in accordance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board rules and guidelines.
- Assists in reviewing LTC Manager’s monthly analyses of revenues and expenses to determine relationships between expense and budget and participates in monthly or as needed HHC/ASC Finance meetings.
- Reviews LTC invoices paid by the manager in the amount of more than $25,000 per check and prepares further analysis as determined necessary. Reviews monthly all invoices and checks paid for LTC of related parties.
- Reviews LTC invoices for ASC/HHC charge cards and analyzes related to budget and recommends appropriate cost containing measures consistent with sound financial management.
- Assists in monitoring adherence to the capital expenditures approved in the annual CAP EX budgets for LTC and the work projects such as renovations, and large repair projects.
- Encounters and resolves, on daily basis, problems and situations requiring independent judgment and action.
- Performs related duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications
Education/Licensure/Certifications/Experience:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration from and accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Accounting concepts and principles ranging from financial statements to reconciling balancing, and auditing methods.
- Ability to analyze, combine, and summarize raw financial data into meaningful analyses as well as standard financial statements.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Suites. Immediate ability to design electronic spreads and verify reliability of large volumes of automated system data.
- Ability to work effectively with accuracy, under pressure of constant deadlines, to make decisions, and provide positive support and leadership.
