Job Role Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the Health and Hospital Corporation (HHC) Vice President of Grants and HHC Grants Administrators to develop, coordinate, and monitor all grant-funded projects for Eskenazi Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center. Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work professionally and efficiently in a time-sensitive environment.

This is a full-time position that requires regular and predictable attendance and the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects, and the ability to perform work both accurately and quickly in a fast-paced environment. The EHC Grants Specialist must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team; must be available throughout the regularly scheduled workday; must be able to use Microsoft suite and Adobe suite effectively and efficiently; must be able to use technology for research and other purposes; and must be able to plan for and meet deadlines.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, business, or related field is required.  An advance degree is preferred.
  • Prior related experience with budgets or grant accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience is also required.  
  • 2-5 years previous accounting or finance experience preferred
  • Prior experience with HRSA’s Health Center Program and Federally Qualified Health Centers, is strongly preferred.
  • Program development and project management experience preferred

  • Use Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and Adobe Acrobat 9
  • Use copy/fax/scan machines
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Must maintain confidentiality of information
