Job Role Summary
The Director of Supply Chain Operations is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of distribution, inventory control, linen, personal protective equipment (PPE) management, receiving, print services, and courier operations at Eskenazi Health. This role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and compliant supply chain processes that support patient care and organizational goals. The director collaborates with clinical, financial, and operational leaders to enhance supply chain efficiencies, optimize inventory controls, and maintain business continuity through reliable logistics and distribution strategies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health Mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County.
- Oversee enterprise-wide inventory and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medical supplies, linen and equipment.
- Develop inventory control, linen, logistics strategies to improve operational efficiency and service.
- Lead inventory management initiatives to optimize stock levels, minimize waste and reduce stockouts.
- Create strategies for managing PPE supplies, ensuring availability during daily operations and public emergencies.
- Utilize data analytics to forecast demand and improve inventory planning in central supply, par locations and clinical procedural areas.
- Direct receiving processes to ensure accurate inspection, documentation and delivery of supplies.
- Sustain storeroom operations to maintain organization, efficiency and compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain print services, ensuring efficient production and distribution of printed materials.
- Manage internal and external courier services to support hospital operations, including the transportation of critical document, mail services and medical supplies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, healthcare administration or related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
- 10 years or more of progressive leadership experience in supply chain operations, logistics and distribution management.
- CMRP, CPSM or PMP preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Expertise in healthcare distribution, logistics, linen and inventory control.
- Experience managing supply chain budgets and cost reduction initiatives.
- Strong leadership, communication and management skills.
- Ability to lead inventory control, linen, receiving, print service and courier operations.
- Preferred experience with SAP MRP, SAP Fiori, Trackcore, EPIC, Strata, Linen Helper, Global Health Exchange (GHX), Power BI and UKG Kronos.
