Job Role Summary

Lead the design and management of physician and Advance Practice Provider (APP) compensation. Align compensation plans with business objectives. Directs the organization's physician/APP compensation programs. Evaluates physician/APP compensation programs and recommends modifications to maintain the organization's objectives and competitive position for physicians and APPs in the marketplace. This position will have accountability for physician and APP compensation to include plan design, annual market reviews, new-hire compensation offers, and financial incentives.

Job Requirements

  • Assists the Director of Finance, Strategy & Provider Compensation by leading compensation programs including development of compensation plans that drive strategic goals, conducting market analyses, and assuring regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in provider staffing request process to evaluate financial impact.
  • Conducts ad-hoc studies as needed.
  • Leads the development of provider compensation plans that support goals and align incentives.
  • Analyzes market data and assures continuing market competitiveness.
  • Completes fair market value assessments for individual and group level healthcare professional compensation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Compiles, prepares, analyzes prospective and retrospective provider compensation.
  • Provides timely, accurate data to management.
  • Maintains patient and family confidentiality.
  • Maintains protected health information in accordance with HIPAA privacy guidelines and regulations.
  • Employee may work independently under the general direction of their leader.
  • Contact with all levels of personnel (management, staff, and physicians) is essential.
  • Extensive telephone and personal interdepartmental contact to obtain/share/provide information.

Minimum Qualifications, Training, and Experience

  • Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • 3+ years of experience in physician compensation plan development.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the health care industry.
  • Effective communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively delegate the work of others and coordinate activities.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and decisions making.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage several projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and develop strong working relationships with related Eskenazi Health departments.
