Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.

 

 

About the Adult Outpatient Program

Adult Outpatient is dedicated to providing holistic care to individuals, focusing on their integration into society. The program emphasizes convenience by offering services close to home through community health centers. Services provided include case management, individual and group training for skills training, group therapy, individual therapy, sessions with certified peer recovery specialists, psychiatric nursing services with medication training and support. Adult Outpatient collaborates with the Supported Employment Program (SEP) and Card Shop to equip clients with skills for employment success and offers ongoing support through the SEP consultants.

The Clinical Supervisor plays a crucial role in the development and oversight of an interdisciplinary team that includes Clinicians and Care Coordinators who work together to support clients with severe mental illness who are moderately or severely impacted by their symptoms.  The supervisor is responsible for ensuring that team members provide excellent client care and customer service according to the standards and policies of the organization.  They also work to ensure that all quality measures and performance standards are met by completing routine chart reviews and performance evaluations, observing direct client care and providing clinical supervision to all members of the team.

As the Clinical Supervisor of the Adult Outpatient Program, your primary responsibility will be to oversee Clinicians delivering therapy services and Care Coordinators. This pivotal role involves providing guidance on treatment plans, ensuring their accuracy and relevance, and offering direction to guarantee the delivery of high-quality care to our patients and their families. Your expertise will contribute to the overall effectiveness of our therapeutic interventions and support the well-being of those under our care.

Am I Qualified?

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health or human services from an accredited college or university.
  • Possession of a current Indiana behavioral health licensure such as LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
  • Minimum of five years of experience.
  • Possesses a valid Indiana Driver's License.
  • Current CPR certification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Proactively contributes to the Eskenazi Health mission, with a special focus on serving the vulnerable population of Marion County.

  • Provides clinical supervision to clinicians, case managers, or related positions.
  • Ensures staff readiness through orientation and on-the-job training.
  • Maintains expertise in research-based clinical practices and protocols.
  • Teaches and monitors staff adherence to these practices and protocols.
  • Collaborates with psychiatrists, managers, and other personnel for the integration and development of treatment services.
  • Participates in the development of in-service training opportunities.
  • Works collaboratively with other organizations to ensure continuity of services and develops referral systems.
  • Monitors clinical work performance and assists in preparing personnel data and performance evaluations.
  • Assists staff in preparing documentation, including court letters, evaluations, and professional correspondence.
  • Assists the Manager in managing contracts, grants, and service agreements.
  • Provides a comprehensive range of strengths and community-based interventions for clients.
  • Develops and oversees processes to review and update treatment plans according to guidelines.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with best practices for diverse client populations.
  • Provides indirect services to external agencies and the community through consultation and education.
  • Serves as a role model and clinical resource for other clinicians.
  • Assists clinicians in determining appropriate interventions to aid clients in reaching their treatment goals.
  • Assists other team members in covering client needs.
  • Offers input for staff performance appraisals.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of best standards for age-appropriate care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Training in the use and side effects of psychotropic medications.

Skills:

  • Advanced critical thinking regarding assessment, crisis intervention, within a strength-based framework.
  • Strong interpersonal skills/ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communication.
  • Practice in mental health and addictions treatment.
  • Experience in providing risk assessments.

Abilities:

  • Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze client data.
  • Ability to provide case presentations to clinical staff.
  • Ability to receive feedback.
