Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.
Job Role Summary

As a Clinical Manager, RN, you will play a vital leadership role with 24-hour accountability for clinical operations, team performance, quality outcomes, and regulatory readiness. This position is responsible for leading and developing nursing teams while ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
As the Clinical Manager, RN, you will:
- Lead daily operations, staffing, and productivity for assigned clinical areas
- Foster a culture that reflects Eskenazi Health’s PRIDE values
- Ensure compliance with clinical practice standards and the Indiana Nurse Practice Act
- Round regularly with patients, families, and staff to evaluate care outcomes
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with providers and interdisciplinary teams
- Support and actively participate in shared governance and organizational committees
- Promote a healthy work environment, driving high engagement and low turnover
- Analyze patient experience data and partner with the Office of Patient Experience to address concerns
- Oversee staffing patterns, payroll, and financial stewardship
- Monitor and improve unit performance through data, metrics, and performance initiatives
- Maintain regulatory readiness and compliance standards
- Serve as a mentor and coach for staff and emerging nurse leaders
- Provide direct patient care as needed, functioning as a Staff Nurse II/Charge Nurse
- Lead performance management efforts, including coaching, feedback, and professional development
What You Bring
The ideal candidate brings a strong clinical foundation along with demonstrated leadership ability and a passion for patient-centered care. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in nursing from a nationally accredited college or university, hold a current Indiana Registered Nurse license, and maintain current BLS certification (with additional certifications as required by unit). A minimum of three years of clinical experience with demonstrated leadership skills is required. The successful candidate will have the ability to function as a Staff Nurse II, Shift Coordinator, or Charge Nurse, and must meet the qualifications associated with those roles.
In addition, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development through activities such as national certification, continuing education, conference participation, mentoring, teaching, and engagement in professional nursing organizations. Strong critical thinking, decision-making, communication, and team-building skills are essential for success in this role.
