Job Role Summary
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive range of evaluation and treatment processes for patient/family through bio-psychosocial assessment including psychological evaluation instruments (such as MMPI)
- Formulate an integrated diagnostic assessment
- Formulate patient treatment plans in response to an integrated diagnostic assessment
- Review and authorize (HSPP only) treatment plans of others
- Prepare written psychological assessments
- Perform individual, family and group psychotherapy
- Familiar with community resources and provide referral liaison as needed. Perform crisis intervention as needed
- Provides services in a variety of settings (office, homes, schools, etc.)
- Clinically supervise staff and offer staff development in a variety of areas
- Alter activities/behaviors to reflect/ensure adequate care appropriate to the age of patients served (i.e. adolescent, geriatric, pediatric, neo-natal, and adult) described in the area/unit age-specific and/or job specific competencies
Job Requirements
- License/Certification required: Completion of a Doctoral program in Psychology or Counseling. HSPP Clinical Psychologist licensure status in the state of Indiana
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data/interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs
- Ability to use age-appropriate communication and cognitive skills detailed in the department/area/unit/job specific/age specific competencies
- Ability to interact with a broad multi-disciplinary team
- Understanding a wide range of medical/psychosomatic illnesses and organic symptoms
- Understanding of "best practice" treatment modalities for various diagnoses and their availability in the community
- Establish a method of outcome measurements
- Ability to function independently
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
