Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Job Role Summary

The Burn Supply Coordinator – coordinates and manages all supply inventory within The Richard M. Fairbanks Burn Center (inpatient unit, operating room, and ambulatory clinic)

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

•Manages special orders and inventory control management for the burn center. 
•Maintains the burn center in a state of regulatory readiness as it pertains to inventory, supplies, expired items, and implant tracking and records. 
•Maintains records of all biomedical equipment and processes required paperwork and keeps a master log of all equipment within the burn center.
•Communicates purchase order status to appropriate personnel. 
•Follows departmental and business practices when securing inventory to replenish owned and cosigned items. 
•Requests new SAP numbers as appropriate.
•Creates requisitions for non-stock product needs.
•Participates, at the direction of Nursing Director, in business-related meetings. E.g. – Revenue Integrity, Supply Chain, Value Analysis.
•Collaborates with Nursing Director and Clinical Managers in budget management and development for operational/capital needs.
•Efficient in SAP with the ability to create requisitions, release orders, and track special orders. 
•Manages ECRI recall system for the burn center and communicates with key leaders.
•Collaborates with unit level quality management and performance improvement activities.
•Reports critical item shortages, backordered/discontinued items to the individual making the request.
•Maintains back-order supplies for the burn center. 
•Maintains quality assurance and adheres to instructions of use (IFU) for storage and preparation
 

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Equivalent work experience and/or training may be considered in lieu of education

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of hospital and clinic processes and procedures
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Ability to relate in a professional and courteous manner to patients and staff
  • Ability to prioritize work and devise own work patterns/methods and manage large work volumes
  • Ability to be flexible to changing work duties and priorities
  • Ability to multitask with all the above daily to maintain optimal workflow
  • Knowledge of basic purchasing principles/practices
