Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Audiovisual Systems Engineer is responsible for all audio and video needs occurring on the Eskenazi Health downtown campus. This includes set up, operation and maintenance of sound and video equipment at concerts and events and for other special projects. This position is also responsible for maintaining a quality TV signal and facilitating repairs and changes throughout the hospital and connected buildings (including the patient health education and entertainment TV system). 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

•    Plans, sets up and implements audio and video services, including services for concerts, special events and recurring meetings, etc. on the Eskenazi Health downtown campus or hosted virtually
•    Trains Eskenazi Health employees on use of audiovisual systems and equipment and maintains accurate training documents for distribution to users; serves as the organization’s primary training contact for all Cisco Webex platforms
•    Coordinates the audio and/or video recording of meetings and special events as needed. Serves as videographer and video editor for Eskenazi Health Television Network and other internal projects 
•    Manages the technical components of the satellite and television systems, including cable/satellite, the Eskenazi Health Television Network, Eskenazi Health TV Live and the patient health education and entertainment TV system used on the Eskenazi Health downtown campus. 
•    Collaborates with departments throughout the Eskenazi Health system regarding development of audiovisual projects and ensures all assignments are completed on time
•    Works with outside vendors as needed on maintenance related to audio and video technologies and the Eskenazi Health Television Network and affiliated programs
•    Monitors technical functionality and provides basic troubleshooting support and repairs for Eskenazi Health campus digital signage; escalates appropriately to outside vendor for extensive repairs or replacement
•    Manages inventory of equipment related to audiovisual needs, troubleshooting and repair, etc. 
•    Assists with coordination and staffing meetings and events as needed
•    Assists Event Services Manager in ensuring meetings and events held on the Eskenazi Health campus are executed with excellence and precision and that all guests leave with a positive impression of the organization
 

Job Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Telecommunications, Communications or related discipline Minimum of three years of related experience
•    Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health’s driving policy requirements
 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•    Technical training and/or extensive experience that demonstrates knowledge and skill in the use of a variety of audiovisual technologies and equipment
•    Knowledge of cable and satellite systems
•    Detail oriented, solid organizational ability
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Ability to follow instructions, work independently, devise own work patterns and prioritize tasks
•    Strong customer service focus
•    Advanced computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; video and audio editing software; able to conduct Internet and other kinds of research 
•    Ability to perform routine and special duties/projects as assigned
•    Creative, innovative; enjoys conceiving new ideas
•    Able to use appropriate communication skills and judgment
