Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Are you ready to use your legal expertise to make a meaningful impact in healthcare? Eskenazi Health is seeking an Associate Counsel to join our collaborative legal team. In this role, you’ll provide strategic legal guidance on a wide range of matters, including hospital operations, patient care issues, physician contracting, compliance, and business transactions. You’ll also play a key role in supporting our Medical Legal Partnership (MLP) and other community-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical, solution-oriented legal advice on healthcare operations, compliance, and regulatory matters.
  • Draft, review, and analyze contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Represent Eskenazi Health in internal committees and workgroups, providing expert legal counsel.Support litigation and employment matters as needed.
  • Partner with leadership to develop strategies that align with Eskenazi Health’s mission and values.
  • Contribute to community programs through the Medical Legal Partnership, including training sessions and outreach initiatives.
  • Monitor changes in healthcare law and regulations, ensuring Eskenazi Health remains compliant and proactive.

Qualifications

Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
License: Active license to practice law in the State of Indiana.
Experience: Relevant experience in healthcare law and contracting; knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as Medicare, Medicaid, Stark, Anti-Kickback, EMTALA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission.
Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
