Job Role Summary
The Advanced Practice RN (APRN) NP in Occupational Health works as an educator, advocate and care provider and is responsible for the care and well-being of patients in the Occupational Health Clinic. The APRN NP plans, coordinates, and evaluates patient's health care and provides diagnostic as well as therapeutic intervention and evaluation, including diagnostic and pharmacologic intervention. Performs or orders and interprets diagnostic testing. Utilizes referrals to other providers as needed. Writes prescriptions when having appropriate approved prescriptive authority. Performs office procedures within the scope of practice. Collaborates with health care providers across the health care continuum
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Identifies patients whose illnesses are beyond the Urgent Care Visit Center scope of practice and collaborates with medical director of Occupational Health or specialty corisultants as needed
• Provide physical assessment and history of employee's capability to work and maintain health within safety standards.
• Provide effective medical treatment and management of injuries and illnesses for employees, including follow ups and referrals .
• Document assessment, diagnosis, and treatment consistent with state and federal standard and laws .
• Demonstrates skill in evaluating, treating, and managing work related injury/illness.
• Demonstrates familiarity with OSHA regulations in the workplace and hospital setting.
• Understands work related injuries and return to work policies .
• Understands government regulated management of exposure to infectious diseases .
• Review and document status reports.
• Review and order immunizations as recommended by the Center of Disease Control (CDC) and the infection control committee.
• Monitor health status of employees.
• Implement occupational and environmental health and safety education for staff .
• Research current legislation that impact practice, workers, and the workplace.

Minimum Qualifications, Training, and Experience
Immediate Care or Urgent Care experience required. Primary Care experience will be considered.
