JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice RN (APRN) –practices as a spe and mental health that works as an educator, advocate and care provider and is res and well-being of patients with psychiatric disorders, intellectual disabilities and/ impairment across the lifespan using a holistic model of psychiatric-mental health

 

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Assessment of mental health needs of acute and chronically ill individual condition.
  • Diagnose simple and complex mental health and psychiatric conditions.
  • Develop and execute treatment plans to manage patients with psychiatric
  • Conduct physical exams, order and interpret tests.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including prescribing and monitoring ps medications.
  • Provide individual psychotherapy (if trained)
  • Manage patients with psychiatric, mental health, and substance abuse/use evidence based practice.
  • Counsel on preventive care

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Expertise in the practice of nursing validated by five years of current clinical practice including two years in the area of specialty practice.
  • PMHNP (psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner) certification required.
  • Credential with APN core and psychiatry care specialty
